The catalogue of the third international satire exhibition, held in Moscow in 1977 in support of the antiwar movement and against the arms race, with work from the USSR, Mongolia, Cuba, Turkey, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, France, the USA, Germany, Denmark, Mexico, Colombia, Portugal and Japan.

Among the contributors is Ollie Harrington (1912–1995), whom Langston Hughes called America’s greatest African-American cartoonist. And among them is Yayoi Kusama (b. 1929), showing the watercolour Tidal Waves of War, painted in 1977 after her return from New York, during the years of hostile Japanese press and hospitalisation. The work is now in the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo.

Original pictorial boards with the shipping box. Good: light wear to the boards, light spotting to the fore-edge, owner’s signature to the verso of the first free endpaper, dampstaining to the lower edge of the box.
